Skills-GAP
The global skills shortage is real and certainly no secret. The large majority of companies worldwide (87%) are aware that they either already have a skills gap or will have one within a few years, according to McKinsey & Company.

The term “skills gap” refers to the bridge between the skills that companies need and the ones that employees have. It’s fuelled by a combination of factors like outdated curriculum and ineffective training, inadequate teachers and poor infrastructure including advances in automation, AI and other technologies, along with candidates lacking the skills needed to interact with these new tech innovations.
These advancements have changed day-to-day operations, and upskilling programs at many organizations have yet to catch up. The result is a widening skills gap that can take a toll on company performance as well as employee confidence and productivity.

Work readiness refers to the extent to which an individual possesses the necessary skills, knowledge, and attributes to effectively undertake a specific role or occupation. It encompasses the core, functional, and technical competencies required for a position.
In today's rapidly changing work environments, the meaning of career readiness extends beyond specific job-related skills. It comprises transferable skills that allow an individual to thrive in their career. It's about being agile and open to learning as new technologies and job requirements emerge, like how you tackle projects, manage your workload, collaborate in teams, respond to changes in the industry, and build professional relationships.
It's like having a toolbox with the right mix of skills, not just the technical know-how, but also the ability to get along with your colleagues and solve problems.
